Ealing houses from the inside
A good share of our work is in the Edwardian and late Victorian houses around Castlebar and Montpelier Road, and they ask for patience. Many still have a runner on the stairs and a parquet border round the living room, so the wand stops a hand's width short of the wood and the last strip of carpet gets done by hand. Loft conversions put a bedroom at the top of a third, narrow flight, and with a basement or a half-landing in the mix there is a lot of carrying between floors. We book a little extra time for houses like that.
Ealing's water is hard. On cream wool that shows as a dull, chalky film after a heavy-handed rinse, so we keep the detergent low and finish with a plain water pass, grooming the pile while it is still damp.
Round the Broadway the work is mostly flats, a lot of them let to people who moved here for the Elizabeth line. Those change hands around the quarter days more than in summer, so late March, June, September and December fill up early. Zone W near the station is enforced between 9 and 10am and again between 3 and 4pm, Monday to Friday, so a visit starting at ten usually has the kerb to itself until the afternoon.

One-off visits carry a £67 minimum. A hallway, one flight and a landing come to £72 and clear it; a single bedroom on its own does not.
